Temora Greyhounds Memorial Meeting 18th November 2017
Temora raced on Saturday night with 12 races on the cards, rained all day and the local trots were cancelled but the track was in good conditioned so the dogs raced.
It was the clubs annual Memorial meeting where families of past greyhound people name a race and produce a trophy to the winner to remember there family members who have gone.
Race 1, Norm & Molly Harmer Memorial maiden 330m saw Tilly Rockin win in 19.61 for Christopher Bootsma from Yerong Creek winning by ¼ length to Zamboro Swagger and Mallee Billy
Race 2, Tom & Norma Clark Memorial 330m Maiden had Mary’s Desire win in 19.05 for Terry Okeefe from Cootamundra by 7 ¼ lengths to Jaggered Iles and Just Jorji
Race 3, Fay Edwards Memorial 570m Non Graded event with extra prizemoney as well as the trophy had a good field go to the boxes. The winner was Wild josh for Peter Scott from Junee in a time of 33.69 by 2 lengths to Drum Fire and Heza Saint. Chris Edwards was on hand to present the trophy to the winner and his dog. Race 4, Nancy and Bill Bartel Memorial 4/5th grade 457m saw Delta Izmir win for Gregg Mills from Cootamundra in 26.65 by 1 length to Texy Boy and Dana Kazza
Race 5, Snow Roy Memorial FFA 330m saw a top field assemble behind the boxes and we expected a exciting race and all at track were given a spectacular race to watch. Sugar Man won in a great time of 18.94 for Graham Thurkettle from Harden, by 7 ¾ lengths to Magic Lobo and Becoming A Man.
Race 6, Ray Gavenlock Memorial 3/4th grade 330m saw Tana’s Angel win for Christopher Glascott of Wagga in 19.31 by 2 ¾ lengths to Podium Express and Glendale Zeus. (pictured left)
Race 7, Ron White Memorial 4/5th grade 330m race, saw Kenny’s Shadow win in 18.99 for Vicki Prest of Young by 2 ¼ lengths to Red Jacket and Cash A Roo
Race 8, Irene, Jeff & Michael Goode Memorial 457m saw Kalimba Unicorn win for Chris Priestley of Dunlop in 27.00 by ½ length to Flash Grant and Our Moo Moo. Cherryl Bradley presented the trophy to the winner for her families race.
Race 9, Lois Woods Memorial 330m had Stevie win in 19.43 for Vicki Prest of Young giving her a double for the night. Winning by 1 ½ lengths to Lucy’s Squiggle and Dan Keke. Arthur Fahey was there to present the trophy to Vicki
Race 10, John, Jean & Reg Sheedy Memorial saw Better Cruise win for owner Tanya Skarratt from Ashmont in 19.17 by 2 ¼ lengths to Quadzilla and Gando’s Fish, Ron Sheedy congratulated the winner on winning his families race
Race 11, Sam Bradley Memorial, had Mallee Chas win for Graham Thurkettle of Harden giving him a doulde for the night, he won in a time of 19.42 by 1 ¾ lengths to Gotta Little Big and Slow Porsche, Colin Bradley was at the track to do the presentation to the winner.
Race 12, George Schwencke Memorial went to Al’s Desire for Terry Okeefe of Cootamundra giving him a double for the night, winning in 18.86 just of the track record by 6 ¼ lengths to Luka’s Choice and Meila Allen. Both Bill and Glenn were on track, but Donna did the presentation to the winning connections on behave of the family.
