2018 Track Star Awards
Overarching Rules:
The NSW GBOTA Track Star awards shall run from January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018
The NSW GBOTA Track Star awards shall apply to all race meetings at NSW GBOTA venues, and be on a per track basis:
Bathurst
Bulli
Gosford
Gunnedah
Lismore
Maitland
Temora
Wentworth Park
The NSW Track Star awards shall have the following categories:
Greyhound of the Year
Breeder of the Year
Trainer of the Year
The NSW GBOTA Track Star awards shall be open to all registered participants
Information shall be sourced from the Ozchase system, at the conclusion of each month. Participants must ensure they maintain their records with their respective governing body to ensure points/strike rates are correctly recorded. Information as sourced from Ozchase is final, not disputes shall be entered in to.
Rules for Category:
Greyhound of the Year
Points shall be allocated to place getters in the following order:
First (including dead heats) = 5 points
Second (including dead heats) = 3 points
Third (including dead heats) = 1 point
Greyhound must compete in a minimum of 10 races at the venue, having been declared a starter at each race. Where a race is declared as a No Race the start shall not count.
Breeder of the Year
Strike rate shall be determined by dividing the number of placings (first, second and third – including dead heats) by the number of starters
The breeder must have had a greyhound/s compete in a minimum of 10 race meetings at the venue, having been declared a starter at each race. Where a race is declared as a No Race the start shall not count.
Trainer of the Year
Strike rate shall be determined by dividing the number of placings (first, second and third – including dead heats) by the number of starters
The trainer must have had a greyhound/s compete in a minimum of 10 race meetings at the venue, having been declared a starter at each race. Where a race is declared as a No Race the start shall not count.
Determination of winners
Greyhound of the Year
Overall winner for each venue shall be declared at January 1, 2019; being from race results between January 1, 2018- December 31, 2018.
Winner shall be paid the below amounts, which shall be divided 50% between the nominated owner and trainer as recorded at December 31, 2018
Metropolitan (Wentworth Park):
NSW GBOTA Member: $4,000
Non Member: $2,000
TAB & Non TAB (Bathurst, Bulli, Gosford, Gunnedah, Lismore, Maitland, Temora)
NSW GBOTA Member: $2,000
Non Member: $1,000
Members incentive: the leader of the Greyhound of the Year category at each track shall be recorded and published at the end of each quarter, with the leader to receive $250 where they are a current GBOTA member at the date listed below:
Quarter 1 – March 31, 2018
Quarter 2 – June 30, 2018
Quarter 3 – September 30, 2018
Breeder of the Year
Overall winner for each venue shall be declared at January 1, 2019; being from race results between January 1, 2018- December 31, 2018.
Where the leading breeder is disqualified at the time of the overall or quarterly incentive payment being declared, they shall be disqualified from that Award payment/s and the next eligible breeder shall be awarded the appropriate prize.
Winning Trainer shall be paid the below amounts:
Metropolitan (Wentworth Park):
NSW GBOTA Member: $2,000
Non Member: $1,000
TAB & Non TAB (Bathurst, Bulli, Gosford, Gunnedah, Lismore, Maitland, Temora)
NSW GBOTA Member: $1,000
Non Member: $500
Members incentive: the leader of the Breeder of the Year category at each track shall be recorded and published at the end of each quarter, with the leader to receive $250 where they are a current GBOTA member at the date listed below:
Quarter 1 – March 31, 2018
Quarter 2 – June 30, 2018
Quarter 3 – September 30, 2018
Trainer of the Year
